Scott Postma is a teacher, a writer, and the director of Poiema Press & Institute. He and his family currently live in Moscow, Idaho where he also teaches for Logos Online School and Roman Roads Media.
Inspired by the classical and Christian imagination, Scott’s passion is to help writers and creative professionals fulfill their vocation as artists and culture-makers, or in the words of Percy Shelley, as the unacknowledged legislatures of the world.
For more than 20 years, he has served as a minister and educator, developing youth, planting churches, and starting private schools.
Currently, Scott is pursuing a PhD in humanities, focusing on the literature, philosophy and theology of the Western tradition and its relationship to the revival of contemporary Christian humanism in a post-modern culture (anticipated completion, early 2019).
He has earned degrees in classical studies (M.A.C.C.S., Knox Theological Seminary), religion and English literature (B.S., Liberty University), theology (M.A., B.A., Salt Lake Baptist College), and creative writing (A.A., College of Southern Nevada).
What Others Are Saying
Mr. Postma is capable of logical reasoning and persuasive argumentation. He analyzes well and writes clearly.
A capable communicator with an effective grasp of language and disciplined study undergirding all of his teaching.
I have been quite impressed with Scott’s extensive experience in church planting, Christian education, and freelance writing.
